i get it all except the size of holes. Is it saying do 1/4 and 1/2 inch holes randomly or is there some reason for having 1/4inch in some places and 1/2 in the others? cheers.

just cut out the front section of the box

its a lot simpler

its not as if your drilling thru your body panels - its a piece of plastic u can get from a scrappy for a £10!!

Just make sure that any holes etc are below the filter level. It really makes no difference to the size and pattern of your holes, obviously though, the bigger the better.

thats what the filter is for, you drill below the filter line

and what pipe are you talkin about? the small one on the base of the box, it just pulls off

lol, i got it off now. the big pipe coming out the back above the filter. i assume its the pipe taking the filtered air to the engine. i've got it off now dont worry. rite wot next!?

rite as i see it from wot i've read. i can either make a load of holes under the filter line OR i can make one hole and connect a cold air feed to it? any recommendations which 2 do, or any other ideas?

if you cut one big hole out of the front then the sound will reverberate in the box and sound better

i did 1/2 inch holes on my 1.4 8v and im well chuffed with reesults
did lotsa holes tho

i did 14mm holes on my 1.6.front left and against wing.put 2 cold air pipes to it and a lurve the noise

take ya box off and have a gander first... what engine u got? mines a 1998 1.4 8v and had a hot/cold air inlet flap thingy (techincal term) basicaly it takes up a lof ot the front of the box so didnt have space for the 70mm pipe i bought (wich was 12 quid at halfords )

do 1/4 inch holes, then go over them with a 1/2 inch drill piece

if u go and do holes with a 1/2inch drill piece straigh away, well lol, do it and find out

just done my air box 2day, makes the engine roar and exhaust seem louder. not sure about more performance?
