you should give it a go Sooty. your engine has a knock sensor. run your tank low of UL then put in a little bit of optimax, then run low and put a wee bit more in. then reset your ECU and go for a fast hard drive. use lots of revs hard as.

The cars are identical except steve has a better induction kit (sealed) and a piperX breather, there where I need to focus my efforts next.
Ross - do you expect a difference, I need to know because 84.9 aint cheap

because he has to vent the crack case vapor as he no longer has the attachment that goes into teh OE induction system. the oil vapours are ment to lower your power however your not legally ment to vent them intot he atmosphere and you should fail your MOT if the testerd spots it

I think he will use optimax + octane boost
This combination causes Manganese deposits in the chambers and reduces perf. and potentially damages the engine. As has happened to several Aston owners running optimax and boosters.
Standard cellulose thinners is good (cheap) octane boost 10% mix will give roughly a 3 raise in RON.
If you want to go all out use 100LL (118RON rated) aviation fuel. but this has lead in a kills CAT's.

maybe it was the type of octane booster they used. optimax is safe to use
