£420 is a LOT of money. I did my front springs myself with the haynes manual, first mechanical thing ive changed onmy car myself. Brakes sholdnt be too hard either, bulb is about 30p. Vaux are rip off merchants!

i hate vauxhall garages
i'm sure vauxhall would be better off sacking all their staff and just droppin off a family of monkeys at each dealership with a set of spanners and a phillips screwdriver
they would get much less complaints from customers i reckon......and we would get a better service!!!

Don't tell them about the engine. Just go in acting all dumb and say theres a problem, like with the battary. Get them to pop the bonnet, then check the look on thier faces!!!

vaux are pretty shit mate One in bedford tried to sell me a new rubber boot and said that the split boot would fail the MOT, then i told them that i had the MOT the day before fooking monkey then said, "oh, it must be dirt then"...yea ok, like you can mistake dirt for a split rubber boot
Bastard also tried to charge me 20 quid to fit a battery in key fob so the light goes on, as well as telling me that the key fob would have to be recoded to open the door, yet my car doesnt have remote locking
Vaux also charge waaayyy more for things than other people, infact the bedford (riverside) branch change 2 times more labour than the one in Flitwick (about the same distance from me than riverside)
Vaux are just a bunch of monkehs and most of them dont know there ass from their elbow either

lol
Well you MAY get people that know what there doing, but vaux shouldn’t be like that - have a few good branches dotted around
However, labour costs are stupid as well, even at the Flitwick branch near me, its still pricey. And their diagnostic system is shocking too. Halfords stated that the ecu gave a error 64 (something to do with the idle value) but they couldn’t tell us what it is because their diagnostic system said "Please send car to main dealer" And vaux charge 40 quid (well riverside do) just to have a look
Overall, I think vaux have gone down hill alot and I believe that the branches shouldn’t be ran independently from each other as franchises. They should be all controlled by Vaux HQ, so each branch has the same quality as the nest one, thus a customer can take their car into another branch and know that the car will be dealt with correctly and knowing that it is in good hands. But this isn’t the case, especially with riverside Bedford
