I have 5channel Amp was running front pioneers, rear 6x9 and a kenwood sub...! Came with the car so wasn't gonna complain And headunit was a shitty std cd slot Pioneer
I upgraded front speakers to Audiobahn - (I'll post model here later) Very happy with these! Disconnected the 6x9 cos they were pants !
Im gettin a new sub and new amp - spoken to cheekycorsa and he has suggected a 4channel amp that can run the fronts and the other two bridge to run the sub Me no understand tho
Also lookin at new Alpine headunit poss MP3
Thoughts and suggestions

If your buying an Alpine HU, why bother getting a 4 channel amp. Run the fronts from the HU, no doubt be 4x50w RMS and just buy a decent 2 channel or mono chanel amp for the sub.
If you decide to get some rear fill 2 way speakers run that from the HU too.
Just my 2p worth.

Alpine hu's are NOT 4 x50 or 60 RMS LOL
There about 4 x 23 -27RMS.
The best thing u can do is get a good 2 channel amp for the comps and buy a monoblock amp to power the sub and sell your old amp.
Will be top!

YESH
like adi said, alpines or anything other HU dont push out what it says on the tin. Like my pionner states 4x55w, but like fook is that 55wRMS its about 25wRMS.
And yea, get a 2 channel for your comps and a monoblock for the sub. Or get a 4 channel for the comps and leaves a spare set if you want to put some comps/coxials in the back
Or if you strapped for cash, then you could bridge a 2 channel amp for the sub and when ya get enough cash, swap it for a monoblock

lol boss
basically, bridging is when you link two or more channels to gether to acts as one MONO channels used for subs And this is simply done by taking the psitive (+) of one channel and negative (-) of another (in a group set) and them going to the sub There may also be a setting or something which you need to change, but thats about it

that amp isnt great tbh 160 x 1 rms is a tad poor for a sub.
limits you really to a jl 10 or 12w0.
