remember to implement some sort of security for machines to login into your internal network, otherwise you may have a few vistors you didnt expect

^^ aye...but sod the login shite....just setup 128bit WEP on the wireless and it will be pretty secure. Although, rename any admin accounts to something else and switch of any guest accounts

as long as you know how far the wireless network goes from the AP the sure thats fine, but I personally wouldnt just trust WEP on its own, prehaps chuck in some IPSEC in there.

yes, wep can be cracked, but only using a brute force method off guessing the key, and since there can be a few billion possibilities for the key and if you make the key fairly hard (loads of upper & lower case letters and numbers) its pretty much impossible to crack, unless the cracker feels that he has a few years to crack it or he has a head up on your passwords etc etc
Eitherway, make sure that each computer runs ZoneAlarm or another firewall other than XPs own shite and run a decent A-V, you should be pretty much safe

Last time i read about it I thought the toughness of the crack was all to do with how many packets you captured. Like I said I've only read about it so I wouldnt know the ins and outs.

Yeah a brute force attack must try every key in the keyspace. 128bit would take about 1 x 10^20 years if you could try a million keys every second... (literally!)
The way to crack encryption is to try and reduce the keyspace by finding flaws in the algorithms -- when WEP is concerned there's loads!
If you capture around 7Gb of data traversing the wireless network, you can crack an average secret key in not much time at all!

Oh just while I'm on a really geeky roll... Uninteresting fact of the day is with current electronics it's impossible to crack 256-bit encryption by brute force...
The amount of energy you need to change each state in a 256-bit gray counter, means to count through every combination would need the energy from about 10^8 hypernovas
Please mock me

Geek!
I guess it means you did actually learn something in Uni, then, apart from the prices of every drink in every student bar!
