does anyone have it..

if so..

does it lock up all the time?

i just got a copy.. and it locks up all the time. .

and it isnt because my comp is 2 hot.

i put it on my bros machine and it does the same for him.

could it just be the copy that i have ?

my PC is good enough to run the game.

Try changing all settings to low.

Also what GFX card u got? All the Gerforce 4 and Fx's are known to have problems at the moment, best card manufacturers of ones that are working are creative, leadtek, and gainward

what graphics card/spec is your PC

there has been a few people saying it keeps locking up, its the graphics card which is the main culprit as the game is sooo damn intensive!

You could try getting the latest graphics drivers/motherboard drivers & install DX9.0C

I have an old GF4 Ti4200 Refernece card (made by nvidia themselves, not a 3rd party such as Creatvie, MSI, etc...) and had no problems with this at all

Ally: all settings on lowest and its a gainward GeForce 4 4600 or summin like that. 128mb

Paul: Latest drivers i have got, DX9c i got,

it maybe due to the heating up.. coz when it locks up the temp is 50+ degrees.

Works fine for me.
The full game is 3 CDs, so you know if you've got the correct version.

Gainward Ti4600, works fine on mine......pity the game looks and feels like a slightly "nicer graphics" version of the original Half Life......WAY too linear, and WAY too dark (anyone else wonder why a futuristic space-marine, supposedly with the craftiness to boot, didn't think to gaffer-tape that bloody flashlight to his gun?)

I've got it, it locked up every 15 minutes on my ATi 9600XT, ATi have released a set of Beta Doom3 fix drivers. They have solved the problem for me.
Search the web, there is a lot of discussion about this.

I downloaded it aswell, its fine its the full retail one, US got it before us thats why... 50c is fine for your gfx card, mine is 55c all the time. Try updating your motherboard drivers as well. Also mght be your CPU temp? D3 is quite a cpu intensive game.... Nvidia cards made by different companys are all the same.

Otherwise they might release a patch to fix it?

The full game is out in America already, it's 3 Cds.

And it's great.

Because he only has 1 flashlight, and about 6 guns?
I'm more concerned about how this 1 marine is taking down all these monsters, yet the other TEAMS of marines are being killed by them.

Chris, My GF brother has the same problem. He has a monster PC and has downloaded a few versions of Doom and they all lock up on him. May as well just wait till it released. Due out this Friday.

chances are there is a simple hardware conflict probably down to some sort of driver. If your computer was too hot, it will either beep consistently or shut itself down. Doom 3 wont cause a computer to overheat on its own anyway. Make sure you have the latest Nvidia UDA drivers, or one before the most recent, since the latest ones incorporate the new 6800 series. i have had some problems with the most recent Nvidia driver. Ally, the card vendor has nothing to do with "bad geforce 4's", that down to crap versions, notably the MX series. I have the Ti4800 card and its still pretty quick.
