Right once I've bolted the EGR valve into the exhaust manifold, how do you then go about blanking it off?
Darren, how did you get around you EGR valve removal?

Done
Your going against what Lee Mitchell has said and what Vauxhall have said and Vauxhall Spares in Luton have said.
And why is it aftermarket exhaust manifolds come with blanking screws to blank the EGR off.

its the secondary air pump too warm the CAT up on start up.
The EGR valve is on the inlet manifold.

I'm positive its on the lower part of the inlet manifold coz its a basted to get too.
Anyways, fix a blanking plate over the hole and then fix the valve on and plug the wires in.
So basicaly the valve will still open and close .'. not giving a fault code but as it is blocked off theres no crap goin in the inlet again.

Just get a peice of stainless steel and cut to shape ant fit imbetween the INLET manifold and the EGR VALVE so the pathway for the gas is blocked.
The only problem is getting to the egr vlave located in the INLET MANIFOLD.

Sorry but I still think your wrong, how the hell can it be on the inlet manifold? Thats on the back of the engine, where the EGR mounts on the front and where there is pressure coming from the front of th engine bay is where the EGR valve would be.
Wait until Lee sees this thread and see what he says.

Right I'm dead confused.
WHAT THE HELL IS THE LITTLE THING ON THE FRONT OF THE ENGINE THAT LOOKS LIKE IT HAS A HAT ON and has a pipe coming out of it running to the right hand side.
Its the EGR is'nt it? Because the C16XE does'nt have it.

Yeah exactly, the valve is fixed on the back of the engine
Its the size of a can of beans and bolts to the lower half of the inlet - I promise ya. They're around #200 from Vauxhall.
Your thinking of the secondary air pump thingy which pumps air thru the CAT when cold
