which parts do i use for this as i have the engine in now with the astra gte linkage bit on the gearbox and mount, this is a solid bar and has nothing tighten up around the gear knob bar that comes from the inside and also it doesnt fit around it in any way so which parts do i need to use?
do i need to change the linkage on the gearbox to the corsa one or do i get an astra gear knob bar end to attach to it?

cheers andy

i was under the impression that you kept the astra linkage on the box, but cut and extended the corsa link rod to fit.
could be wrong, and i'd like to see the answer now too.

You need to use a Nova gear linkage rod, as the Corsa one is made from plastic. You extend it and attatch it to the Astra gear linkage...

Surely the shortshift would be designed for the F20 and not the Corsa?

So you'll still either have to extend it 15mm or modify the gearbox mount as above.

when modifying the gearbox mount, is the spacer still used?

So what way is better:

extending corsa link, metal nova rod and f20 u piece?

OR

im presuming removing spacer, trimming mount, and using std corsa link and plastic rod, with f20 u piece?
(im led to believe removing the spacer will make the diff sit wrong and wear it out prematurely)??

if u have someone that can weld. extend the linkage. and u dont use the u piece of the f20 u use the corsa one. when u bolt the front engine mounts on. the rear mount is about 15mm away thats what the spacers for to fill the gap. if u cut the mount ur then pulling the mount to passenger side 15mm. so obviously making the rear mount rubber wonky if u know what i mean,

The two areas highlighted are where extra metalwork has been added.

The top of the Corsa linkage is the "U" shaped end, that needs to be cut at the point of the first weld, 15mm of extra metal to be welded in then the other end reattached to the end of the new piece of metal.

The same is for the metal rod a bit lower down. If your car has a plastic rod, get the metal rod from the Nova.

what about the shaft on the part that connects to the gearbox (shaft connected to the universal joint kinda thing) (bottom right of the pic)

Does that need extended? Or could i do what nova owners with c20xe's do and flip part of the universal joint round?

so using g/box spacer:

extend the linkage

(nova metal rod and corsa U-shaped arm, or is it the F"0 u-shaped arm?? where shown by 15mm)
(thats two extensions in total)
