It depends on what style you go for. You could order a standard size reflective set with standard size digits in charles wright font. The size spacing and reflective backing will be legal and probably the perspex (bsau 145d).

But they will not be 100% legal unless you have shown the retailer your identification and the sale has been recorded along with all of your details and the suppliers postcode is underneath the bottom of the plate.

A completely ridiculous law if you ask me.

Tomorrow im going to my local DVLA office,

In Brief this is what i need to do.

Put my private plate from my SXi onto my SRi

(take standard plate off the SRi)

Then put standard plate back onto the SXi

Simple i hear you all cry!

Wellll

What happeneds with all the tax discs, do they give me them there and then?

How do i buy new number plates for the SXi if i have a V5 with my private plate on?

Do they give me new V5's at the same time??

I'm just about to buy a plate from the DVLA web site and was wondering if I need to pay extra to put the plate onto my car???

It says on the site that the price includes all fees however I have no idea what these fees are???

So when I pay for my plate all I need to do is go into the DVLA main offices and fill out some forms????

Can I put the plate on straight away or do I have to wait for a letter of conformation or something similar???

you go the the dvla office, fill out the forms, they change the v5, and the tax, you go and make the plates up and put them on

sorted

v5 arrives a few weeks later with updated info
