it's been in a state of half undress for a couple of months now, but i thought i'd make a start on the rest of it.
got this week off, and i need to fix it (wont start at the mo, suspected electrical fault (my shoddy wiring)) but the battery was flat, so i've stuck it on charge and been working on the inside.

couple of questions.
whats the best way to get the tar stuff off?
i've got universal subframes. shall i tart about with these or fork out for specific ones?

i would put the carpet back in a door panels and rear quarter as well or will be soo loud,
i like the stripped but nice look, no carpets etc only suits rally nuts cars!
id stick them onto the existing subframes the cobra ones are crap!! I have loads of problems with mine!!

I agree with all of this, you need something to make it a bit quieter in the back else it will annoy you.
Cobra subframes are crap like Brad says, I had to pay like £120 for some Nova specific frames and they were crap, I still had to drill holes in the floor plan to get them to fit and they wobbled about still. Just fit them to the original frames.
You are gonna regret taking the roof lining out as well, how did you get the sticky stuff off the roof?

Your have seen how much flex there are in my Cobra Subframes I'm sure. The floorpan and the subframes needed adjusting with a mallet too - they sponsor me though, so I shouldn't say that

with my recliners u have to take the frame apart to fit take off runners etc, not i sit sooo low plus i cant put the sill trim on, xmas job is to modify the old subframes for the new seats!
keep the carpets and roof unless you want a full rally slag but remember doing 70mph on a motrway wont be fun!!

dont start chiselling that stuf off the roof....it will ripple ask JR 
looks good jst too stripped out and being that stripped out you woudnt be abe to park it anywhere in public without making it easy for chavs to break into it

most of the sticky shit from the roof just flapped down when i took the lining out. what didn't come off is stuck pretty hard, so i guess i'll need to heat that up to get it off.
door cards are gone, but i'll keep the carpet in the loft untill i've decided wether i can put up with it without for a while.
it's my only car, but i don't do many miles, so i expect i could bare it.
and you guys reckon i can bolt the cobra seats to the corsa subframes? or vice versa

So we are all in agreement, Cobra subframes are not worth the money or the effort required to make them fit.

yep u just bolt angle iron to them in the same place the old corsa ones used to mount onto! mine rock all over the place!

...even though they cost extra money for model specific frames they are still wank and required adjustment to fit to the car.

i started knocking the stuff of the roof with a screwdriver before deciding that it wasn't a good idea. roof metal doesn't seem particularly thick.
i don't get how a missing interior will make it easier to break into though.

The Cobra subframes require a lot of fiddleing to get them to fit, and once they are in you need to put thin pieces of metal under the subframe front where the slots are to prevent them from rattling. They RRP at about £70 don't they?

yep ed thast right, i had to cut the pegs off for the seatbelt retainers as the seat wudnt go past that point. there shhote!
