Basically im toying with the idea of making my GSI completely mint, i mean getting and defects in the bodywork sorted and cleaning up the engine bay, getting alloys refurbished etc, my only worry is that the underneath is quite rusty, last mot had to have a small amount of welding done underneath, so do you think i shouldnt bother ploughing any money into it really and just leave it?

Why don't you take the kit off the gsi and put it onto a newer corsa?
On second thoughts, don't kill another gsi

When I got my Nova it was a shed, anyone that saw it can vouch for that but it had a good shell so I plouged money into it.

All Corsas will look like that underneath, get it up on a ramp and get the rust off, paint it underneath then waxoil it.

have a good look, check theres no more real structural problems, paint with rust inhibitor, waxoyl, then paint with underbody sealer...
as long as none of it is too bad that will stop it getting worse. If you are really worried get a bodyshop or somewhere to look at it first.
