coil pack engines aka dizzyless.
dunno why they changed. there must be an advantage to the coil pack.

think they changed in 92/93, so c20xe's have dizzy too.

no, C20XE just means cat. IIRC the DIS XEs also have different cambelt + tensioners

My engine's a C20XE (stamped on block) yet came from a 1990 Calibra.

Probably a very late C20XE, 92/93 onwards, although its not impossible to put a DIS pack on an earlyer dizzy XE

early type upto about 92 with Dizzy, same as mine

you can tell just by the shape of the belt cover.
later ones had a more protrusive shape around the idler.

also early have round toothed belts, late have square toothed.

another cosmetic diff is the writing.

some have dohc 16v horizontal beside vaux.

mine and others it vertical at the lhs...........
