Cleaned car today but where all the bits of bird shit were on my bonnet it has left dull patches on the paintwork. I've washed/scrubbed/polished (with 3 varieties of polish) but i just can't get rid of these marks.

Is this normal? I don't remember having this problem with my Corsa and as i've just had a new bonnet sprayed and fitted i was thinking it may have something to do with the bodyshop using shit paint or not protecting it properly..

i am a valeter see it all the time! really hard to get rid of it as the bird cr@p eats the paint! machine polish it is the best bet to see if they can take it down a bit just remember to clean any bird muck off as soon as you see it more so on a car with a solid colour

It was only on the car since yesterday. Went out yesterday morning and my windscreen was totally covered - used about 2 litres of screen wash before i could see through the window..

Didn't have time to clean it off properly as i was at work yesterday but been out all morning washing/cleaning/etc so it's only been on for just over 24 hours..

I desperately need something to protect it because i've got a 60ft tree covering my driveway so it's only gonna get worse throughtout the summer months..

toughseal is meant to protect against bird shit. NOt sure on how long it lasts

This is the stuff i was thinking about, it's shoot hot. We've used it before. We re-applied it every 3 months just to be safe but i know people who left it for 12 months as they claim it can and it was fine.

T-Cut has almost sorted it though. Borrowed some off my neighbour and after rubbing it in really really hard (my arms were hurting ), it's almost gone now! Will give it another rub over tomorrow..

New tyres (they're like slicks at the minute ) and the exhaust headshield thingy underneath the car which surrounds the big silencer box bit thingy is hanging off. The rubber pipe that goes from the airbox to the engine has got a split in it aswell.

New tyres have been ordered today (Toyo Proxes T1-R) £73.30 each.

When i go to get tyres fitted during the week i'm going to ask them if they can either reattach the heatshield thing or just take it off.

And the split pipe can wait til it's causing enough of a problem to upset me.
