pulled out behind a marked BMW estate and an unmarked Jaguar earlier.
they were in a 30 doing about 45ish so i decided to give a bit of a chase seeing as they were breaking the law.
next thing i know.... they come up behind another car and the beemer overtakes his unmarked mate and the other car in front of that!
the old bill are a bunch of fucking cunts the beemer was actually racing the unmarked jag and in the process... overtakes a normal road user and i could'nt even see him after that cos he took off so quick whilst i was stuck behind the Jaguar!
you'd think they would hav learned their lesson after the uproar over the "tested" vectra.... they really do take the piss

I was overtook on a stupid bit of road recently in a 40mph limit, the copper was in a marked car and clearly breaking the limit with no blues and twos on.
They are complete Arseholes, and one of the reasons I don't own a modded car anymore

Could have been driver training, they do that on dangerous roads, usually in the country, high speeds etc.
Know of two that were out at night, started an hour apart, one went into a dip, hit a sheep at 70mph, then as they were starting to get out, the other one had caught up and slammed into the first one

like someone said in one of the other posts about this
you work in a sweet shop, you get free sweets, you work in a car shop, you get cheap and free car bits.
you work for the police, you get to break the law

what if they were on their way to an emergency?
what if the overtaking car had a senior in and needed to respond to whatever first?

a more senior officer... who knows, was just an example.
point is don't jump to conclusions. there might be a genuine reason to why they were driving like loonies.

by law they need to put the lights on if they are attending an emergency but as sum 1 said above they could of been on training or there superior could of been in the car and told them to do that and they have to follow there orders!!!

The law does not state that Marked or unmarked Police vehicles with appropriately trained drivers need to warn the public that they are braking the speed limit, this is for two purposes.
1) driver training
2) to catch up with a vehicle for whatever purpose, if once it has been attempted to stop the vehicle in a safe location and it fails to do so, making off from the Police vehicle, then warning equipment must be used (headlight flashers-daylight only, blue lights and sirens, in whichever of three different tones depending on the situation.)
This is in order to conduct a persuit of the vehicle safely and to warn it to stop

Shouldn't driver training involve a marked car?

Yeah training is nearly always in unmarked cars, they are always bombing it up and down my road, right pain in the ass.
