1 button on the mouse. no right click.
macs are in their own way more powerful than pc too. run photoshop on a pc, and then on a mac and youl notice a huge difference.
macs also look nicer

will a mac go straight onto a network with PC's?
are they better for general use?

yes theyl go into a pc server no problems.
general use, hmmm im not sure to be honest. ive got a top spec PC at home, i use a G4 at work, but im on a new Imac now.
i can imagine the imac being good for emails etc. but maybe not for hardcore things such as video editing, graphics etc

pcs are cheaper. macs are very reliable, even though i have managed to blow up my G4 today without any of the work backed up
macs are just a lil bit different.

OMG this is so incorrect.
Apples run on a completely different architecture compared to PC's which use the x86 architecture. The operating systems are no where the same, on apples you'll get something like Mac OSX 10 or something like which is actually based on a unix distribution called BSD.
Whereas on PC's you have Microsoft Windows normally.

if your thinking about getting a mac mate, i would leave it until next year - along wait i know, but apple are going over to intel processors from the IBM power pc chips, so in theory either the old stock will be cheap or new stuff will be cheap
as for the one button thing, you can use a "normal" mouse on a mac
but tbh, unless your going to use one for hardcore photoshopping, video editing or music production i wouldnt worry about them - there only become super dooper stable when using apps like these, otherwise you wont really see any difference just browsing the web/emailing etc
willay - yes your right mate, when you start looking at the OS's you will see that there nothing like each other, but when macs move over to intels then the two systems will almost be similar apart from using different filesystems

can still get corkers like halo etc etc on apples though but its all going to change, like i say soon......although personally i dont think the change over to intels will do them any good, just a shame IBM couldnt pull their fingers out and get a 3gig chip (which they promised apple a few years back)

IBM are too busy with their issues with SCO lol.
yes OSX has that pretty element that XP brought to our desktops, but thats nothing you cant get with a different window manager

Also I feel that games on apples are second rate, I mean when games are developed they are normally have a target system to design it round, PS2/PC whatever, when it gets round to the apple they look abit...sketchy.
