As used on the V6 calibra etc..
Can these be used in conjuntion with an LET? Im not 100% sure how long my F20 shall last, and id like to possible tune it to phase 2, but it eat my F20 before i changed into 2nd
F28s are hideously expensive, wondered weather this is a viable alternative

It will mate up, but bellhousing sizes are different. V6 is technically a small block engine. Therefore, you'll have mount alighnment issues.

Yes.
My mate has a straight cut F25 from a Vectra racing series car on his Mk3 Astra. The thing manages 60 in first at 8500rpm
But he can only get one lock right, and if we put it on my car I'd not be able to turn right at all I don't think!
But the box is a different size to a normal F25, so I think you would have no worries in that department.

Worth it though mate. I'd go F28 on the V6 if I was keeping it.

£300+ Bit of a rip off for something that is going to be about 8 to 15 years old.

Go get one from an unsuspecting scrappy who will sell it off for £20, though you don't get many Cav or Cally turbos in scrappys round here... Another thing I don't understand is how somone can have the cheek to sell a 8-15 year old C20LET for above a grand... I advise when buying stuff like this, don't buy it through a board like Corsasport or Mig because all the stuff is overpriced big time because there is so much damn hype. I'm sure Vauxhall made hundreds of thousands LET engines so it's not like they're going to be rare, same goes for the gearboxes.

depends, the guy who supplys LETs to people like Lee (also the guy I got my engine off) looks after them well and doesnt just rip them out and sell them.
Though I must agree there is alot of hype about it and it doesnt help the price at all.

The full conversion is in the reigon of £800-900 for the gearbox.
Im not saying its cheaper than an evo, just no point in chucking another thousand pounds at my car when i could save for something better.
Ed ive looked thru places that sell engines and gearboxes and their prices are even worse and its even harder to find one

Chances of finding an unsuspecting scrappy? not likely! Scrappies are who they are cos they generally know the worth of parts of various cars and know what are the bits to get hold of!
Something is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. If people pay £300 for a gearbox, they will sell for £300

My F28 has the LSD in it now, its worth more than feck all!
Alternitavely, you could be a jammy cunt and get a cheap deal on the front end of a cav, say, £700? Or buy a whole cav turbo for £400?
The deals are out there, why I always keep some spare cash now, ive missed a couple of golden oppertunities on cheap engines etc. in the past!
Anyone fancy an R34 skyline minus the shell for £400?
