Righto...... but of a pointless fun post...

Take 1 standard 205 GTi 1.9 and a budget of £1000

aim = track car

What would you buy/fit with the money?

and reasons why?

for the sake of 20bhp i'd rather a car that went round corners better...

1.9 engine isnt too bad..

oh.... r'bered what i'd spend th other 50 or so on..... shorter gearboc from 1.6 GTi

plus stripping it goes without saying

dont do exhaust, was reading a pug performance website and its said that the original exhaust was purpose made to get the best out of the enigine, aftermarket exhausts cause loss of power on them.

i suggest, strip - roll cage - suspennsion setup - brake upgrade - and like u said rebore and 1.6 gear box

"Several years ago one of the comics did a group test on 8 or so performance systems for our old friend above, the Peugeot 205 Gti. Every system cost at least twice as much as the standard one and the BEST of them gave 1 bhp LESS than standard. "

i'd prob strip it totally
spend £500 or so on coilovers
good discs and pads and fluid £250
oil and filter change £30
if it needs it, dcat for £60
and a Cold air induction system with the rest

it'll handle alot better then all of these with exhausts etc.. and be able to outbreak them so will be more fun and quicker round the track
