Am looking for a car that will be fast, cheap to buy, and also cheap to mantain... willing to do an engine conversion also, it will mainly be used for track days so preferably something that can handle ok! Been having a look round but cant decide on what I want!

Sierra XR4X4

Gut it, wack in a cage and harness and away you go. Not all that fast but massive potential, and great grip in the wet.

Also in it's favour:

Cheap, good looking, sounds great, track and road presence, nice and solid in a smack (espesh with cage fitted), relatively easy and economical to repair.

You can't go and smack up a classic MK2 XR2 on a track, thats just sick and wrong.
They should be loved.

Tut tut, silly me, what was I thinking.

In the automotive beauty stakes, there are obviously the greats, Bugatti, Ferrari, Maserati, Jaguar, Lamborghini, Iso Griffo, BRM, Auto Union, Lotus, Aston Martin, TVR, etc. etc...

and then there's the real work of aesthetic genius...

the one true beauty of the motoring landscape...

the antithesis of all that is grotesque...

the car who's striking appeal would shame Adonis and Aphrodite and make Venus cower in the shadows...

the heavenly transport that can cause the gods to weep from it's mere presence and that is not fit to be looked upon by the eyes of mere mortals...

The one true beauty...

That is...

I hope that dummy you just spat out finds its way back to you.

Do you see me using my impreza as a track car? Do you hear me saying my impreza is small? No.

An XR4 is a bag of shit. Almost as bad as the suggestion of a cav.

And another thing, an Impreza will destroy an XR4x4 on the track standard for standard.

any idea why something would be done to 1 car more than the other..... because that car might respond better to the engine change....
