What exactly does this mean? and does it have an effect on how the car runs, or is it purely cosmetic?
Just asking because of the gsi for sale in the 'for sale' section, says it has cracked b pillars and some people have said in the past that its a thing to look out for
just being curious, dont call me dumb

without sounding patronising it means exactely what it says
the b pillars show signs of cracking and it is a common fault with some corsas

Effect, no. Devalue, depends if the buyer is worried.

so if it has no effect and doesnt devalue a car why would a buyer be worried?
Purely because its cosmetic?

Chassis flex and you can get corrosion inside the window seals which further weakens it.

An MOT tester can fail the car on that because the crack is within x" from the seatbelt mount. Most of them know it isn't a problem though.

Its best too go take a look at the car... plus you could use it as a reason to get some money knocked off, I dont knowhow much it would cost to get repaired, might be worth getting some quotes to see if you can get that off hte asking price

Also I've only ever noticed this on GSi's, would it be because of the uprated supension or did it do it to the whole range and I've just not noticed?

Mykes B pillars were cracked on his GSi.
P.S. It costs about £50 per side to get the welded, plated up and smoothed. You will then need to get them painted up...

personally I would look for a car without them... I cant help thinking its got something to do with alloy wheels and suspension mods, as these must add to the forces put on the Chassis when cornering hard.
I know std cars do it, but it seems to be more common in modded ones...
