Cast aluminium basket
Tork-Tite terminal
8layer flatwound aluminium voice coil
FEA optimized motor structure for extreme Bl
Foam core dustcap
Triple stack magnets
Dual, triple or Quad Progressive spiders

Subsonic Filter 28Hz 12 dB per Octave
Sooo, my question is....
can these be paired up, one sub with one amp?
i already have amp, just looking at the sub.
id like to put a load on amp, so sub runs at the 1100wrms stated.
is this possible
ALSO, can the sub run at this wrms, coz ive heard that over powering is as bad as underpowering. So how will i know if it doesnt tell me spces?
Thanks for your time

The RE sub should be able to handle the power fine - i doubt that u will get 1100wRMS at 1ohms anyways, but just turn the gains down a tad anyways
btw, you need the dual 2ohm coils if your going to run it at 1ohm

Well your going to want a dual 4 or dual 1 ohm version.
Power ratings are crazy on those subs, and the power will vary on voice coil configuration. You need to call RE Audio bud

Dom, not sure where you are at, the amp he's got puts out 1100wRMS at 2 ohm, hence needing a dual 1 or 4 ohm sub, not dual 2.

sorry mate, only did a quick read and thought it was 1ohm
though depending on what amp it is, you might be able to run it at 1ohm...i know a few peeps with rockys that say there 2ohm stable, but got them at 1ohm, seem to be fine

You should not push ure amp down to 1 ohm if it dont say it can run at 1 ohm unless you no people with the same amp's at 1 ohm. You will wont the DUAL 4 ohm so you can run ure amp at 2 ohm's
and run it in a ported box

yes mate. Rocky do a DVC 1000wrms 4ohm sub, which is perfect for putting a 2ohm load on the amp and running nicely at 2ohm
i REALLY want RE (rated so much better by everyone), and would rather not have the rocky sub unless i really had too
and RE Audio MT12 is about £120 CHEAPER
just gota buy a yellow top, then ill buy one of these subs (hopefully )
Richie- as for ringing RE mate, it was them that told me that it doesnt matter if you under power a sub, so im not quite sure if i want to follow there advice 100%....
Dom- It's the "Type RF X6 Amplifier" Doesnt recomend a 1ohm load, and i dont know ANYONE else with this amplifier
toxic- i always invisaged a ported inclosure, is that what these subs are designed to be housed in?

So would this sub then be able to be wired in such a configuration?
Also, can some one correct me if im wrong here:
this sub would be underpowered constantly, so surely it wouldnt last very long...?
Thanks for all your help so far peoples

Underpowering is much more dangerous than overpowering.
A dual 4 ohm sub can have its coils wired in parallel to get 2 ohm, or a dual 1 ohm sub can have its coils wired in series to get 2 ohm.
As for ringing R.E., that was to get the power ratings of the sub for the dual 1 ohm, or the dual 4 ohm sub as they may be different.

hmmm..
i think ive been misunderstanding...
where it says:
5 Voice coil options - Dual 4, 2 or 1ohms and Quad 2 and 1ohms
does that mean they all ALL different subs, and not one crazy sub with loads of different wiring options?
because IF thats right, that means i could get a DVC@4ohm jobby like you say richie

i cant see these subs only being 1000wrms, and as i wouldnt want to under power them, i think im kinda stumped...
???

and yes they are the coil options available, when you buy it you have to pick one.
each sub only has one type.

The MT12 is not the most musical sub from RE Audio. I would more than likely run a XXX12 Dual 4ohms"
but these subs dont seem to exist, unless thats what a 'quad' sub can do...?
need to buy today, so any input is greatly appreciated

basically get the "XXX" line and not the MT version, as the MT's are SPL subs And xxx12 - means the 12" version although not sure about the RMS of the XXX range

The XXXv3 12" sub has dual 2ohm coils so can be run at 1ohm which is great if your amp can handle it, or 4ohms which will bring the output down a notch. I cant find a dual 4ohm XXX sub.

na my amp cant handle 1ohm, only 2 or 4ohm stable
this all seems so annoying just for one poxy sub.
i think should just spend the extra wonga, and get the rockford one, cause thats perfect, 1000wrms

NEW QUESTION:
would the system sound crap if i had this
1 x 1100wrms @2ohm sub
AND
2 x 175wrms @ 2ohm subs
two 8" 175rms subs
one 12" 1000wrms sub
i ask this because of the different sized subs.
Thanks again for all you help

the rockford isnt as good.
The definative answer to this is:
Get a dual 4 ohm XXX - if its not standard then they will make you one for a small price extra.

Adi my man, even if it isn't made at 1000WRMS, is it still what i should get?
btw, do you know if it would sound poop if i had two smaller subs, running at much lower WRMS in the same boot?
(nearly all clear, then i'll start building )
