Looking at a few on ebay at the moment
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4578645200&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT
Needs a new engine. OK condition, few scratches. Lookls like its been kept outside.
Or the other one.....
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4578341045&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT
Same again, needs new engine. Condition looks A1, also looks like its been well looked after. No dents/scratches/scrapes. Looks like its kept in a garage too.....
Plus there is this one
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4578501153&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT
1.4 Sport. Stolen & recovered. Had new ignition but needs wiring. Condition looks alright.
I only really need it for the shell hence why Im looking at non runners.
The yellow one looks like the best one but its already at £560 with a few days to go. Blue one I could get for under £600 I reckon. Unsure what the sport will go for.
Should I bid on the blue one & possibly miss out on the yellow one. Or assume that the blue one might not sell & gets relisted. Then I can see what the yellow one goes for & bid If im happy with the price.
Cant decide

That yellow one is immaculate. I would pay a grand or so for it, seeing as you could sell the engine on for a bit.

I reckon the yellow one because of the colour and also from looking at the photos it looks totally mint bodywork wise

I would say the reason why the yellow one doesn't work is because of the immobiliser.

ALL CORSA CHASSIS ARE THE SAME. In Fact, the 1.0 are stronger than the early GSi's. You will never see a 12v with cracked pillars.

I thought the chassis were the same but the roll bars etc were put on the "higher" models

Why would the Pillars Crack?

My envoy had anti rollbars, envoy is the new name for merits, so they are poverty spec.
The B pillars crack in the pre facelift cars due to a design fault. I have no idea why, though the facelift models have a strengthening plate spot welded in to prevent them cracking.

I would scrap the anti rollbar anyway, made the car understeer so much it was scary...

Matt, get one that has a rev counter and central locking and tinted glass else you will have to replace it all.

Would depend on the spec of the car, The engine on a GSi would weigh more due to the extra piston, GSi's also have a higher spec so they have more wires, so the would weigh more than a Merit or an Envoy...

So you think get the Sport then?
Does the fact that its stolen/recovered affect insurance at all?
