If you can pick up something that has 4x4 it will help you enormously over the winter months

Why? That is so fcuking stupid!

If he wants a winter car then he needs something cheap, reliable and cheap running costs.

4x4 = not cheap to run.

30mpg cheap to insure - spot on. Served me very well indeed.

A S2 Rallye defeats the object, you want a runabout not another hot hatch.

Why? Because if shitty weather entails snow and ice, I know I'd rather have something with power going to all four wheels. And if you actually have a look, you can find 4x4s cheaper to buy than some fwd banger. The difference in fuel costs isn't going to be much, and as for insurance, if you're thinking about a 2nd car then you've got to expect to pay out for a new poilicy with 0 years NCD so its gonna be a lot even if you've got a 750cc Panda.

Up to you at the end of the day, a 2nd car is great to have all year round, I just know, especially around here in the hills of Yorkshire, I'd go with 4x4

your 14 and dont know how to drive.

We dont get enough snow in this country to warrant a 4 wheel drive.

Please log off the internet and do your home work.

I would hazard a guess that it would be unreliable with it being a Peugeot

If your getting a 2nd car should stick to something that isn't a hot hatch. What about a diesel of some sort?

"We dont get enough snow in this country to warrant a 4 wheel drive."

Maybe not in Nottingham. Its not just snow, up here we have lots of roads that are a low priority to get gritted. If we don't warrent 4x4 then I'll just fire off an email to Land Rover and tell them they've wasted their time.
