Selling her Corsa, going purchase either a Golf GTi 1.8 20v T, Audi A3 1.8 20v T or a Seat Ibiza Cupra R for 7 to 8 grand.
I know a couple of your (jr, Jim, Mattb) work for Volkswagen, can you give her a low down on what to look out for, what to stay clear of and for the price range in mind can she get a decent car.
Danke

Yup, my GF has one of these and loves it. MPG on it is excellent aswell, and not too bad performance.

TDI is far far better option
on GOLFS and A3 wacth for window regs falling out, £220 each
also dont buy one with a induction kit fitted or fit one, can go into detail about this but a nightmare for them
Air mass metres do go on the, about £70 a time on exchange
um watch for rattles going over bumps, as anti roll bar bushes and links are known to go
Sensors arent a stong point on them Espcially lamba probes, and temp sensors

This is the trouble, no one stocks cars more than 2 years old. I was lucky to get my Coupe from Vauxhall to be fair.

Ollie mate, tell her to get the Ibiza R. Ok the build quality isn't as good as the other 2 although a lot of the same parts are used, but as a car it's awesome fun. Over 200bhp as std (180 on the book), 16" OZ Super T's and Brembo 4 pots.
Pics of my old one:

coil packs? seem to get a few with them going!
Ibiza Cupra 1.9 TDi is 160PS(158bhp) @ 3750 and 243 lb/ft of torque @ 1900rpm as standard. Can have a new one on 0% finance over 2years with 30% deposit at the moment aswell Ollie. Gimme a call, go on, you know you wanna.

How much did you sell yours for Salon? I've been looking at Golfs and for 8k you can hardly get anything with decent spec.
I mentioned the Ibiza Cupra R, intrested going to have a nosey on Autotrader tonight.
I think her heart is set on a Golf though.

well she owns it therefore does not have to pay any money out on it !!! so why not keep it........ does not make sense, you buy a car run it, spend out on it, lose money on it and sell it to do it all over again !
