Just flicking through my computer, and I found this picture of it how it used to be

This was in 2002 or 2003, it was waaayyyyyy ahead of its time. Infact so far ahead of its time its just got slated and ripped. Unbelievable. To be honest I've still to this day not seen a LET as revolutional as this was The only thing the same today are the wheels and the cooler.

If somebody rolled up with this engine in a car today, they would probably be proclaimed a God or something ROFL

Anyway here is the picture....

Nova Van.... When done should be 376bhp (engine got RR'd at that in another car). He's only missing the injectors, so at the moment he is using a Phase 3.5 ECU and standard (or black) injectors.

J BOOST, Phase 3.5, slightly bigger turbo than me, otherwise the same. I've heard him say a 12.3 time and his terminal speed should equate to 330bhp?

Mine, slightly bigger turbo than standard, otherwise same as Chris_S's I think? I'm sure he has somethign snidy on his though LOL.

You could run on a 5 speed if your easy on it. But for full thrashing you need an F28.

The Van will always beat us both if all three of us are running phase 3.5. The headwork on it is immense, and its lack of weight are a winner

yeh i'm running the five speed just now. Pricing up the diff and clutch etc... also on the look out for some good tyres to put on the front. What turbo do you have, Hybrid? To run phase 3.5 what is needed(intercooler, bigger turbo?)

I've given Will first dibs on my turbo. Otherwise you could of had all my phase 3.5 stuff off me. Cooler, turbo, chips, injectors. All I'll keep is the fuel pressure regulator and the fuel pump.

To convert a 5 speed car to 6 speed youself doing the labour would cost you:

Box: £250
Diff: £450ish
Get diff in box and change speedo ring so your clocks work: £100-ish
Clutch: Fook knows, got mine cheapo.
Mounts: Dunno.

Then get it in!

Its not cheap at all

Got the Hybrid turbo, got the EDS front mounted intercooler and phase 1 chip. I'm a mechanic so the labour is nothing. What fuel pump did you use and i take it it's a 4.5 bar regulator you used?

Yeah that fuel pressure regulator. Just doing another engine. Won't need my cooler, Phase 3.5, turbo or manifold.

I was going to use DTA management, but I've been saved by the bell by something else

That van was parked next to my car on the PVD stand at the first PVS show, the reason it was heaverly slated at the time was due to the fact it had a claim of 500BHP stickers on the side and the fact it couldnt do more than 200 yards without fucking up a drive shaft.

Oh and the fact it was a non runner at the show

Glad to see it is running well now but it was hardly ahead of its time, there are quicker C20LET engine cars in the vauxhall scene before this van was running right and now.

Don't think "timrud" was claiming it was the fastest C20LET engine, however i'd imagine it was and prob still is one of the fastest novas.

Matt, the Van wasn't running in that picture I have up there. Granted you don't know Will, and before every show prep was left until the last minute, and a manic 24 hours. Correct it never ran (apart from a few minutes, but that wasn't anybodys fault, sheer bad luck), then it was taken out and time constraints ment it never returned in full madness trim. Though with cossie management it did run for a long time.

The only car close to it is that Astra on MIG that Mark Shead has just done the first map on. But thats at least 3 years later.

If you look at my original post I never said how fast it was

This is just an example of people haven't a clue... so they slated it to death. "The bonnet won't shut" "It snapped a driveshaft".

As it is now its a pritty basic LET. Show me a LET from that era my pic is from that was more revolutional and I'll eat my words

jr - Yes it does Been talking to him today.

C2VXL - I think it does yes. Though I'm not a fan of it myself.

i never said, that you said, that he said. LOL only joking. I take it, it kept snapping shafts as there were no uprated shafts designed back then? It must get quick quater mile times (low 13's)
