I mean the old style. Are they any good? I might get a 1.6 next year for funsies but will the insurance be higher as its a coupe?
I've not seen many modded ones so I'd like to give it a try.
Anyone else have any tigra stories?

They drive the same as a Corsa, they are prety much the same car as a Corsa.
Look on the Parkers website for the insurance group to see what they are. I would imagine they cost a little bit more to insure as they are a Coupe...
There is a Tigra club somewhere on the net, look on Google for it as I don't have a clue what the address is.

Just looked, not worth it:
1.4 group 10
1.6 group 12.
Corsa sport 1.4 16v group 7.
Was a nice idea, and i would have had a tigra as my 1st car if i'd won the auction... glad i didnt!
Cheers guys

because its regarded as a fairly high liability to the insurance company. be it through theft, security or something as mundane as an NCAP result

I loved mine!
I did think it drove a bit better than the corsa, my ex used to prefer taking the tigra rather than his corsa and most times I ended up getting the bus instead of driving the corsa!

funny that... i used to take the girlfriends tigra to work too and she got the train rather than drive my corsa...
tigra is just to slow for my liking though... the corsa is twice as quick to 70mph...

Isn't the 1.4 16v Tigra's faster than the 1.4 16v Corsa, and the 1.6 16v Tigra faster than the 1.6 16v Corsa?

It doesn't just go on engine size or trim level. Some cars are just more desirable to the common thief than others.
I could get a Corsa Sport 1.4 16v that will be less insurance than my Astra GLS 1.4 16v.
*has thoughts of buying a Sport*

Just done a quote with my current insurer:
£985.95 - 1997 Astra GLS 1.4 16v
£880.95 - 1997 Corsa Sport 1.4 16v
£105.00 difference...
