anybody no of a good make of ignition lead,besides magnecor and k1 racing,tried both in the past,apparantly ngk are the best for leads but you have to get them from abroad,anybody no anymore about this

Unless your running a 500 bhp supra etc mate then standard factory leads are well up to the job.

think "splitfire" are good mate, i think thats what theyre called anyway. demon tweeks sell em if i remember correctly

weve got a1 motorstore leads at work,and there guff,am not after ''performance enhancing leads''just a good set,ave heard that GM arent bad so might give them a wirl

they are expensive, "performance" ones seem to be cheaper

GM ones are good enough though

apparantly the parts manager where I work said you can actually see the spark running down the lead on ngk leads,dont no if thats true or not because hes a bit of a knob but would be interesting to find out,imo a dont reckon thats true

most probly is,like a sed hes a knob 3/4 of the day,still wouldnt mind a set tho looking at the quality of plugs ngk do were I work

standard GM plugs are made by NGK if i have been informed correctly

Aren't Megacore leads over £100 for a set? For that much money I would expect a performance upgrade... I would have to look very hard to see any benefits over standard though.

Also, when you consider what HT leads are made of you will understand why even the standard ones are expensive. It's not metal wire that they are amde of...

them vauxhall beru leads are apparantly the best money can buy direct from vauxhall.

the rest are all just cheaper, but nowhere near as good

GM leads are about £240 for the SET.

Well they are for my X14XE anyway.

I shit you not - phone up your local dealer and ask - they only sell them individually as well and not as a set!

£130+vat for the x16xe leads direct from vauxhall, bosch leads £30-40 from halfords, magnecore leads £100. hence i have magnecore lol!

When you say direct do you mean from the factory or from a dealer?

The price I got quoted was from two different dealers - one in Slough and one in Oxford.

i bought a performance set for my old corsa... (1.4 16v with cams etc)

i was forever ripping the wires from the terminals, and when i switched back to the OE GM ones the car ran better.
