possibly the most random thread ever, so im sorry.. BUT..
I have to sell the corsa now, and buy a shitter for £700 or under to put some savings away. Im not sure what to go for, i have considered escorts (sorry ford haters), standard 1.4 corsa, clio etc.
i know the mileage will be around 100k most likely, but as long as its not too much over its ok.
i need a workhorse that doesnt look too embarrassing lol.
insurance IS an issue, so 2.0s or similar isnt really an option. probably ok with 1.8 though and under.
lecture over, fire away :

Just get an old 1.2 8 valve Corsa. They are good reliable cars and are cheap. Plus your used to corsa's now. Thats what i'd get, or maybe an old Astra or Cav?

Well, you're not going to get a Ferrari for £700. If you only have £700 then you can only get a shitty slow car.

Yeah old Cavs are pretty bullet proof, same with astra's. Get an 8 valve one though alot cheaper maintance and generally more reliable.

Yeah 1.8 8v or something or 1.6. My mate has a 2.0 8 valve Cav and he thrashes the bollocks off it and engine wise its never put a foot wrong. I mean the mk3 astra's, he used to have one of them also and thrashed the bollocks off that and was still a good runner. In fact Astra would probably be the better all rounder IMO

Very nice, shame its white. quite tempting.
my corsa is a standard p reg merit 1.2 8v
cone air filter, white side repeaters, seat covers, JVC stereo and speakers, new battery, clutch, good tires. little bits of rust but that can be cleaned.
