Let the problem's begin sounds like sensor related though as the ECU is restricting your revs, doubt its EGR as mine says EGR and mine revs to 6800rpm still... have you done the paperclip test, or cant you get it diognosed..

is the diagnostic even wired up?
cant undertand why people get problems with conversions, mine was fine..... if time is taken and its done properly then there should be a problem

broster you seen to be really knowlegable on conversions whats the main things to look after once you convert from 1.2-1.6 obviously if the conversion like you said has had time taken on it what are the main things to keep up to/check etc to keep it running smoothe
im not a mechanically minded person so i wanna know the things to look out for because i dont want problems with sensors etc and running problems cheers

yes everything is wired in and 100%
all the diagnostics works etc
its must be a sensor which has give up as when it left me everything was 100% i was driving it about before jason got to mine
check the throttle cable as i know it was stiff when i first fitted it but sorted a place where it could flow perfectly, may have moved.

people get teething problems. everything on jasons was done perfectly and when left me was 100% perfect jason will tell you the same.
if a sensor gives up OR the owner dosent take car of the car then thats nothing to do with the conversion is it?

not saying you was mate
just booster was implying (spelling)
thing from remember i would do (from what i remember when doing it) -
- Paperclip first
- move the earth from the top of the inlet to the side (as thinking when i was at mine had the standard inlet and the powercoating may be a bad earth)
- check throttle cable (as it was sticking)
- check the seal around you throttlebody (sucking in unmetered air as i know with the new inlet wasent the best fit around there)

keep an eye on fluid levels is the main thing to look out for. if fluid levels drop then you need to ask why.
keep it serviced, if the conversion is done properly then there shouldnt be teathing problems in my eyes! should function as a normal engine, only way i think teathing problems should be encountered is if you go tuning it large amounts.

if it wont rev past 4k then its in limp mode, something isnt connected or something is up with the engine, check the timing is ok, cam belts cam slip. beadry was a new tentioner and belt fitted?
check the crank sensors....
for it to run badly like you suggest id say the timing needs checking.
is the ecu light not on

air leak would make the engine rev the like buggery if it was leaking there...... the standard suicide clips are poo to get on properly there, did you swap it for a jubilee clip to get it done up tight?
