Hi guys,
Car passed its mot the other day, so thought why not rip it apart and get the throttle bodies on looks like its going to be fun trying to make them fit.
out with the old:

big hole, looks interesting

called it a day there as i need an inlet manifold gasket and a few more bits and bobs to fit them. i trial fitted them, and there was about 2cm between the tb and bulkhead on the drivers side. could be a problem.
and the new stuff:

what do i do with the old injector wiring and all those sensors that come off the loom? the new ecu has wiring loom for the injectors and the sensors now have no where to go as far as i can see. any help welcome.

the new loom you get should cater for all the neccasary sensors so you shouldn't need the old loom.

ah right cool. thanks.does that mean everything coming from the ecu including the ecu can go?
i got this part too:

Do all i need to do is take off the coil and dizzy and just get a blanking plate for where the dizzy used to be? there's a sensor off the new loom that plugs into this part, but it also plugs into the side of the tb's. i dont know where it goes. any idea?

bin the old ecu and loom. fit the new ecu, you should have the following plugs on the new loom:
crank sensor
4x injector wires
coolant temp sensor
dis pack
air temp sensor
lambda (possibly)
thats the basics you need to get it running. dizzy and coil gets binned. try getting the throttles balanced as close to eachother as possible before fitting and dont forget to tap the brake servo and water pipes into the manifold before you fit it! also you will need a base map and a throttle vaccum balancing tool to get it running properly. (halfords sell a basic tool called a 'gunsons carbalancer' that works ok, only £10 )
good luck

And as its emerald you can go to the scrappy and take any rover or mini metro main ECU plug if you need another
Its all pretty simple print the guide off from the emerald site just sit and figure it all out
