right then here we go......
what are xe'd corsa's like against a civic type r?? i don't mean around the twisties, just a traffic light gp!!
and going on the logic that 106 gti's are a tiny amount behind an xe'd corsa, therefore they should be able to keep up with a ctr??
and lets throw an xe'd nova into the mix ............

I remember Steve having a play with a CTR in his 106 GTi around a twisty road, said he could stay in touch with it. Maybe due to the handling of the GTi, up the quarter mile there is nothing in it between all 3 of them.
I think the CTR in capable hands i.e someone that can actually drive it properly should beat all 3 with ease, but 9 times out of 10 people buy the car as a fashion accesory and have no idea how to drive it, so yes the Corsa and Pug have a good chance of staying with it.

i've driven my sister's type r a couple of times and i can say its a lot more vicious than my tuned xe corsa. just not had a go in a 106 gti.
and seen as 106 gti's and saxo vts's are basically the same engine. they're the same performance wise? correct?

i dont understand alot of folks comments.... esp from folk that prob havent driven any of the above.
Granted my old green corsa was a bit on the skinny side.... but it still humped CTR's and 106 GTi's....
The CTR only started to pull away (i was 2up, hes was alone and running 220bhp) at about 115mph.
106GTi's dont even come into the equation

a corsa should be getting high 14's 15.0 on the 1/4..... a CTR around the same maybe..... NOT a standard 106GTi

well me std gti got 15.2 up to 15.7 thats many runs on different days, iv even seen a std gti get a 14.9 and a std VTS get a 15 flat although this is quite rare.
Iv yet to see a CTR get under 15 secs, this is going from what I have seen, not that it hasnt been done.
I actually went up against a ctr at avon park, i got a 15.3 he got a 15.6 maybe theres an element of driver to it, but nothing thats going make make much difference tbh, and certainly not enough to dismiss it from the equation totally
Same goes for a corsa XE

a well driven 106 GTi well get a high 14...
a well driven 20xe corsa will get a low 14...
not 100% clued up on the CTR .... just know its faster top end than an XE corsa..... not low down
