Out in the car last night, got a fonecall from mate who said he had just smashed on a backroan not far away from me. So I went to give him a hand and make sure hes ok. Going round a corner about 25-30mph, once i came off of the corner, i seen a pothole (more like a massive hole!)and couldnt do aything about it. The end result being 2 fucked wheels and tyres
Picture of the hole :

unlucky mate. I would see if you can claim any damages from the council unless its a private road. Would be a lengthy process though.

as long as its a public road, no matter if its a country windy road, they still have responsibility

at the end of the day a road is a road doesn't matter if it's a back road.you still pay tax to drive down it.that road actually looks dangerous 2 big pot holes right next to each other could easily throw your car off the road

the argument they would say is you could have avoided but you have shown quite clearly that thats as possible as sucking your own dick.

council wont pay i guarantee, iv spoke to them before about such things, they only take responsibioity if they have
a) already been informed about the hole prior to the incident
b) will only take responsibilty for certain roads, some minor roads they claim are not there responsilibity even if its not private
