Think 60mm lowering springs are definately going on the to do list. Although I doubt it will be as low as the above. Wish I had taken a pic of the whole car as the front was down low as well
(Rear drums are only a month old but haven't had time to paint them yet!)
Only bit of scrubbage was on the rear right drivers side tyre when going over a bump in the road but nothing a hammer and chock of wood or maybe more metal cut off the arch wont fix
Scrubbage on tyre shown in this pic, nothing major

And the trouble with the drivers side headlight steaming up continues

Take the headlight out, remove the bulbs from the back and lie it face down in an airing cupboard overnight to get any moisture out.

I will try that Ash thanks.
I've had them off the car once for about a week to dry out then went round the seals a couple of times with some clear sealant. Didn't steam up the 1st couple of times I washed it but now its started doing it again

looks good matty, but i think you would regret being that low, just drop it -40mm and drop a sub in the back

its 30mm now and its lower than my mates Corsas that are lowered 40mm.
I need super lowness
Couple of other things to sort before I can do it though
1. make the entrance to my drive a little less steep otherwise no chance of getting up
2. have the exhaust refitted properly as when it was that low yesterday it rattled like a bitch on the rear beam when I was setting off or at low revs in 2nd gear

g/f's is lowered 60mm on the rear with spax adjustables
scrubs slighty with a full load
de bolted arches and fit speedclips and self tapers
also handles really well with the coil overs on the front

what are speedclips?
I haven't debolted my arches. All I've done is chop some of the metal out on the right hand side rear arch and given both of the rear arches a tap with a chock of wood and a hammer.
On all four arches I have cut off any excess thread poking through past the nuts that hold the arches on.

none of the plastic nuts catch. the only thing that catches is the drivers side rear arch. but its the actual metal arch thats touching going over the bumps. all other arches not a problem
Yeah be good if you can get some pics

First I removed the bolts from the arch
And found some speed clips at work that fit nicely in the slots, these are used on lots of trims on vauxhalls so your local dealer will have boxes full of them!
Then a trip to the local hardware shop for some really short but large headed self tapers were sourced
job done!
now theres a really small self taper head in the arch instead of a big ugly plastic bolt and no scrubage!

I see so basically replace the nuts with self tapping screws! I think that will have to be done as it all helps!

most definetly mate the tyre will catch the nut slighty
hers ar et45 7x17 toyo proxes 205/40/17
why dont you remove the rear arches and try it up the road if there is less scrubbing then do it
if not then bolt it back on!

I'm ET45 with exactly the same tyres. They curve over nicely unlike some other tyres that are quite square.
Cheers for you help mate

Yeah I'm looking forward to it!
Paul had some coilovers for sale but they had allready sold by the time I found out about them.
Not sure if I want to spend that much money anyway, 60mm springs are alot cheaper and less hassle!
