£50 and 1/2 days work (depends on your beam condition).
Helped braking, pedal feel, and looks.

ull never do it for 50 quid unless u put on the rubbish pads n discs u get with the beam u buy in the scrappy. new disc n pads (non genuine) will cost 50 alone. then u need handbrake cables etc.

Standard Corsa handbrake cable + the smaller Nova rear handbrake cable (theres 2, you need the shorter one).
Drill bits, a good grinder, few basic tools, happy days.
PS, mine did cost me £50 and i took mine off a working car so no need to replace disks and pads. Although the pads need changing now, 2 years later....
James, do it, worth it imo.
Mine, all painted up...

How much weight does this all add to the car? I'm assuming so much weight is cancelled out in the transfer of the beam???

It does weigh a little more, but nothing major. Your removing the old heavy filled up rear drums with a small set of calipers, and a thin but large surface area'd disk.
It will be within single figure kg in terms of weight difference. But looks
Best and proper way to do it is go the in-car adjustable bias route, but its a lot more work. Would love to do it

Will this stop the bottoming out caused by rear disc conversions?

Bottoming out??? What do you mean, the discs hitting the floor? (the are in the wheel area) or the beam hitting the floor? Only bottoming out i've had is my damn front bumper.
tbh, a lot of people say they arn't needed etc, but i've never had any issues with mine, and i've ran on track an everything.
It does get a bit skittish when hard on the brakes, IF your moving the stearing as well, but then any car will if your yanking the stearing wheel. Braking is meant to be done in a straight line, then you power your way through a corner.

I want one to concerntrate more braking in the rear in order to assist back end action on tarmac rallys.
