Airflow over the bonnet causes a vacuum at the raised section which evacuates warm air from the bay, cooling it down.

i do understand that a corsa is not a skyline or a scooby. and theres no need to call me a muppet but the point i am trying to make is i have never seen this done on ne other road, rally, race car yet except for a few on here doing it to corsas. dont see the need for it...

on most high performance cars they will have a vent of some sort
plus someone says very effective for throttle bodies not many standard cars with throttle bodies

Does anyone know how effective this mod is on a corsa running a standard 2l?

dunno about 2l, but i've had it done for a while, the car was buring oil alot while i was having to drive it round to places to get it sorted, i raised the bonnet to clear the engine bay of smoke and keep the temps down as it was getting hot and the previous owner had mucked about with the fan switch so it never worked. so its not daft at all.

it is a very good and effective way of cooling, done it on alot of my cars, but you only see it on things like corsa's, and like my ka had, because they aint used 2 having a 2.o under the bonnet, or a nice little t2 turbo, it gets kinda hot in there 4 the poor things!

It shows in the second pic how it is done, where the bonnet joins to the hinges you will need a spacer in order to raise the back of the bonnet.
This does actually work quite well if like said above you are running big power
