Needing to do so tomorrow - are you required to inform the bank prior to this?

I was told by my bank once that i could take out as much as they had in the safe. But i think it varies bank to bank.

the bank will need to "order" it in

i took out 3.5k one time, had to wait 3 days for them to get it in, cos they cant give you it without getting some in, or they'd run out later in the day

Normally for amounts over £1k they like to stop you withdrawing and will ask thousands upon thousands of questions due to money laundering etc etc

Phone your bank and ask them - there's no point asking this question on here - each bank's policies are different!

But ask yourself Mav...why would you want 10k in cash?

If it was for a car, i wouldn't accept 10k in cash. I would insist we went to a bank and the cash was paid in before I parted with the documents.

If me and the vendor went to a bank, a credit tranfer would be a whole lot more sensible (cameras on board to video it) and given this chap/lass has posted on a public forum that they are going to be taking 10k out of the bank and walking down the street with it?????

I wont go on further, delete this if you feel it necessary

Yes I am aware of that, however most proper banks have phone banking that stay open until 10pm (HSBC is an example).

You didn't say what time you wanted the £££ though...an early morning call may help you if you need the cash at 5pm
