Hey guys. thought it was about time i did one of these and put some pics up.. Basically ive had the car since it was new in 2000, it was a 1.2 sxi and has 46k on the clock. its been in my garage a long time but starting to work on it alot more now and have more funds to throw at it. pics coming now...

original plan was big kit, (no engine plans set in stone at this time) was gonna be something like this

then i decided to get all the engine work etc done first altho still wasnt sure.

eventually decided on an xe so bought a cally and took the tired engine out and sent it to a local engine preperation guy for a full rebuild (even pistons everything was renewed)

then i went on a major spending spree and purchased the following at this time

speedlines
fk coilovers
alloy topmounts
mps rollcage
polybush kit
stainless boot n bonnet lifters
tiebar lowering brackets
goodrigde (sp) braided brake hoses
wilwood proportioning valve for rear disc conversion
cool running thermostat for xe
mtech quickshifter for xe corsas using f20 box
courtenay stainless manifold heatshield
carbon kevlar inner guards
chrome door strikers
full mtech xe conversion kit

then i decided to do something a little different and paint the underside of the car and do the powdercoating thing. so i completely stripped the car till a bare shell (bar the interior)
i also converted the rear axle to discs at this point




custom 90mm coilsprings from coilsprings.co.uk sittin beside a fk rear adjustable spring without the cup

i spent hours under the shell and in the engine bay/ rear archs and flitch panels/legs etc cleaning with thinners and scotchbrite till it was perfect. then i painted it with over paintable stonechipin preperation for the painter coming to blast it.

after this i had to build back up the engine bay ready for the engine conversion, refit the fuel/brake lines axle and fuel tank etc and all the suspension to the front

all the brown stuff is waxioyl incase anyone is wondering. i didnt screw a bolt into the car or put a gromit in without waxing it first. trying to avoid moisture traps for the future. didnt want to wax it as it takes away from the clean look but couldnt not. it is a vaux after all. lol

now for the engine conversion, i basically spent a hell of a long time on this to make sure it was as good as it could be and as factory looking as poss

at this time i also purchases a paddle clutch (fitted in car - no pics) and other bits n bobs for the conversion

amazing matey, got any pictures of how the back sits on 90mm as i hav had 90mm springs dun by coilsprings and there low like but i have got far more coils then that

so a smooth gsi plan was made to be painted white (not glacier or polar - similar but unique to me white) and i purchased the following





smooth boot is one for now but will be replaced with a semi smooth boot as soon as i purchase a new boot

then i got started on the rest of the body doing the repairs an bare metalling the car for etch and high build

(dirty dusty smoothed wing)










(me getting a go with the guide coat)

i am a panel beater to trade and have also spent alot of time on the repairs etc (all filler work has been finished with 320 grit on a block) just basically trying to finish it to as high a standard as poss.
