Ok just CONSIDERING selling my car at this point, if I were what cars can people suggest I might buy. Anything up to insurance group 15. I know people will say GTI/VTS, but what else is there?

S2 rallye, join the big boys butler! get an S2, put bike throttle bodies on it, and cat cam, never look back!

I thought about that, but i dont think i could knowing i could have a quicker gti!

hmzzzzz, but 8v, more torque.... And not sure how much quicker a modified 16v would be than a modified 8v, if you take the torque into consideration.

I can get insured quite nicely on an s2, i wish quinn would quote me on a gti, if i got one id have to change companies and id lose 6 months no claims.

gti and s2 stats are very similar, as shown on the rallye register. Withvery slight tuning, the s2 would whip one!

but i'm biased, as i'm tb'ing my s2, with QEP head and cat cams, and already have ms management!

GTIs are easier to tune though, 4-2-1 and pugsport, fast road cam and remap is good for 160bhp

I'd have the S2 Rallye over a GTi any day of the week.

If im getting a new car im abandoning the rally quest i dont feel there is place for someone of my age and on such an income in motorsport especially round these parts anymore. Im looking for something more desirable as an everyday car aswell.

Butler......i'm truely dissappointed, I thought you were a rallye enthusiast through and through!
There is a place for a rallye wherever you are, they are so rare!
Income wise, a standard S2 rallye will out perform many similar classed cars, and then when you can afford it, modify the engine.
