Now Zenden is injured for us in midfield, this makes the list...

Sissoko
Alonso
Zenden
Gonzalez
Pennant (semi-fit)

Ive no idea who will be in centre mid with Gerrard now. May be forced to put Carra in a holding role with Hyypia and Agger at centre backs. Or bring a kid though to start maybe.

you fuck Gerrards game playing that though as means he is basically playing all defensive in the centre of probably Garcia and Pennant who are both light weight and wont add much to defending.

You could put Riise on the left but Warnock and Aurellio are both injured so no cover there either

Yeah, it could def be worse. Alonso should be back for the Fulham game (maybe even Wigan at a push) so atleast that will give us a solid two in the centre. Ive a feeling it may well be Carra there on Wed night though.

I reckon he may play a kid. He was on about bringing bellamy to play in mid but on the left iirc, but that's out the window if he's still in court

Defo could be tougher games but it's no-where near ideal.

I reckon a young lad may well come through lingfield (SP) or someone or maybe my mates little bro who the youth team have been switching between central defensive and midfield

http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/team/youth/spearing/

He's still only training with youth team though

Peltier or guthrie(SP) may play (peltier played not long ago).

OK, you name your top 7 midffielders, then wipe 5 of their names off the list...name your midfield

He may play Peltier, Guthrie or Anderson if he goes for a kid, both have been excellent in the reserves/youth team last season.

I still think it may well be...

certainly will. He did an interesting formation on Sat against City...

--------Carra-------Hyypia--------Agger---------

Finnan----------------------------------------Riise

--------Garcia------Gerrard------Zenden--------

Thought it was a really attacking formation with Riise and Finnan playing higher up the pitch, considering the injury problems in midfield aswell. Pitty that the 2 Sunday papers I read seemed to think he was playing Finnan RW?!

I only caught 2 mins of highlights so couldn't comment, seems like a decent formation though.

Love seeing riise getting up and finnan seems to be more confident in the other half of the pitch this season.

Yeah, I would actually prefer Riise playing as a LW and getting a more solid defending player for LB. I also think Riise could play the central role better than Zenden, but we've no one to fill in at LB with Warnock and Aurellio out.

IMO Utd's squad is a lot poorer and less equipped to deal with serious injury... they only have a few spare midfielders and maybe 1 spare striker... ultimately I think that will cost them the title!

I was saying this to a Utd fan the other day during the Chelsea game who agreed. I would rather Utd of won as I think once they get a few injuries and tired players towards the end of the season its really going to cost them.

We shall see though, they may get lucky and not get injuries. Plus they are already out of one cup comp so less games...and may be out of the Champions League before too long

we do have rossi coming back in january tho, smithy as backup and ole not out for long. also i think a new striker may be on the cards in january.

we have 2 injuries in midfield but like has been said if any of our 4 main midfielders get injured we will struggle unless we get hargreaves in jan

Now been confirmed, he is out for 5 weeks as done his medial ligaments and needs and operation Rafa has said though...

"We have a number of options when deciding who can play alongside him. Jamie Carragher can play there, Sami Hyypia can play there because he has a lot of agility and very good stamina and I've also been talking to Daniel Agger who told me he used to play as a holding midfielder."

So could even see Agger there which could be interesting as is great going forward and has a quality shot with both feet.
