show me what you have got, dont want anything that looks to OTT or CHAV as I like the look of a std gsi

Anybody got pics of Joffs old car did he not have a vent?

Actual parts used and where to get them from would also be cool.

Oh and i tried posting this once before in HZ and didnt get very far!

his vent was a cooper s vent, looked good, would be one of the only vents id consider getting

The only vents I like are the cool louvres ones which are pressed into the standard bonnet. Their website has plenty of examples....

looked on there cant really seen any good pics, this wil be on a fibre glass bonnet as well so louvres may not even be possible.

The mini vent looks promising but they arnt cheap to buy and look a complete ball ache to fit.

I have 3 big louvres on mine (not from cool louvres), look smart, but they won't work on fibreglass, u'd need something that can be spliced in, not pressed in, i guess.

I thought it'd be a neat idea to have just 'one' of these bullet hole vents like on claire's car and have the hole leading to a Viper cold air feed

this is for a car with throttle bodies so something quite big like the cooper s one would prob be best

The one Fear and Steve have is the fibreglass £300 jobbie. Donnas got one as well..

TBH, in terms of removing heat, its sh1te. Sits over the top of the rad so the turbo heat comes up and back under the bonnet, doesn't get a chance to go forward up and out.

Vent would be much better about 1"+ back towards the windowscreen..

UNderneath...

They suit the cars well, just need to be that little bit further back.

In terms of heat removal, go lourves.

In terms of scooping, get a "similar" to a scooby vent, or do a custom large vent accross the TB like Andys old GSi, but much bigger. Not sure how rain damage would effect the TB and electrics in the engine bay though...

Failing that............

Cut bulkhead...
Weld and strengthen.
Get long trumpet TB
Remove/Push back heater matix.
Make custom vents in scuttle panel, long TB = extra torque...

yeah was thinking of bulkhead removal I like what beardy has done on his white one, though is does seem a lot of hastle and Iv just bought an air filter to suit my short trumpets!

Heater matrix is due for removal cant see how it would make much differance though as it sits very low.

What is andys vent? a couple of those might do the trick

I removed my bulkhead to fit the 120mm trumpets. then cut out the scuttle panel and the lip on the back of the bonnet. made a good difference to the intake air temp as well (yes I was sad enough to do a before and after test with the laptop plugged into the ecu

)

There's a vacuum effect that will reduce the air pressure under the bonnet though, which technically should induce more cold air through the front of the car.

The hot air will escape backwards if there's enough airflow in there, which that vent should help promote.

Would need proper testing to verify what I've just said though. The above is only theory.

Steve's isn't fibreglass. It's crafted from steel into an original bonnet.
