well after searching for a good S1 RS Turbo i gave up with most of them being too expensive or needing lots of work so i bought this little baby as my weekend toy, resto project.
It's a 1982 MK1 Golf GTI.
Sorry about pics will, get some better ones at the weekend when the stripping begins.

Plans are to strip it fit a cage get it painted up inside and out so it's mint,
Fit a set of BBS Split rims and some buckets.it's already fitted with a brand new set of coilovers, arbs and uprated drilled and grooved discs.
In the near future i will pull out the 1.8 and fit a G60 lump into it.
OLD SKOOL

Very nice Paul. I saw you'd enquired about a couple on E38, this one looks very clean

I want one

Is it a 1.6 or 1.8?

edit - there's a guy on clubpolo who can get BBS wheels built to spec, refurbed, with polished lips and chrome bolts for very good prices, if you're looking for some like the ones on the german car.

small update : 14/01/07

did a few bits today mainly stripping the rear out and tidying up wiring, also took off the monobrow and rear spoiler as they where rank also fitted some old style plates as i'm not a fan of german ones.
I must say it's solid as fcuk with only slight surface rust.

1st job was to rip out all the stuff in the rear,it still had the original alloy in the boot

Rear panels will be replaced with carbon fibre sheet.

I was left with a nice pile off crap was fun doing it.

I made a temporary false floor.untill i get my cage in.

Once that was out of the way i tidied up all the door cards, these will be replaced with carbon fibre sheet when it arrives, the i tidied up the dash as the previous owner had left wires everwhere.

Then off with the old plates and then fitted the GTI badge in the correct place.

Then fitted the new plates and took a few snaps.

Then took it for a quick blast and took a few more shots, the back needs dropping some more now all that weight has gone.

Someone said it was low at the front,i don't know what they mean

Cant wait for my cage to come so i can get it into the bodyshop and have it painted inside and out.

More to come soon

You'd probably get away with them as the car has a suffix plate, at a glance, no-one would twig.
