Just phoned up Admiral to sort out my insurance on the new car, changing from the BMW to a Honda S2000. Bear in mind that my renewal is in March so sorting this out early. They charged me £180 for the Priveledge

Then my renewal price is very reasonable

This is on top of phoning up and being told that a UK convertible doesn't exist

"sir, I only have GT, Mugen or Import"

Useless

I've never paid to do that. But then if it's for another years no claims then you have to. Insurance is such a scam.

The thing is another years no claims is worth about £100

But they were around £200 cheaper than elephant. So for the sake of £180 I'm saving £300. Kind of

Still useless though.....and I forgot the reg number so I have to phone up tomorrow

Still. Got the boys name, policy number etc...so they will probably still tell me to fcuk off

Origianlly they weren't even going to insure me...even after gaining a quote online....so i quoted the number, kicked up shit, demanded a manager, cried a little and hey presto

I can get a better quote from them by cancelling and starting a new policy

Tescos did that when I got the vx....

Rang up beforehand and told them all the details, then got the 'quote'

Lo and behold when I bought the thing they wanted another £150 on top of the 'quote'

Might change in March when it's time to renew, but everyone else was more expensive

The boy that didn't do UK S2000 was foreign. Couldn't make out a word he was saying and he kept calling me Mr Stuart

Who are we all insured with then? Bearing in mind i'm 21, coming up for 5 years no claims bonus (got a year free which admiral endorsed) result

Who you thinking of changing to mav? Were flux good with you? When I tried to insure my gti with them they said I had to be 21 so I don't think they will take too kindly to the S2K

I would shop around again come renewal time.....car insurance is the same as fone contracts IMO, it tends to get much cheaper when they can lock you into a 12 month contract.
