Audi might see the odd track session with nice suspension, VX would get hammered all over the show. Or go nuts with my Corsa? All cars would be used to transport me to work 5 days a week (couple of miles away) and to the GFs (30 miles, mostly motorway)

Audi S3 - Comfy, prestigous (not that it counts!) German build quality. Set up from the factory to be nippy, reliable etc. Can be a normal car too.
VX would have to be Turbo!
Corsa would require more looking after

S3, more tuning potential as its a turbo, looks smart and is less of a 'lads' car like the corsa is..

s3, doesnt take many mods to get them near 300bhp which will put it in line with something like the e46 m3

i wil explain later, i cant belive people would take a 225bhp (if a later one) heavy hatchback over a drivers car like a vx220 though

i know there not as reliable as people might assume(helex 4wd or whatever its called, coilpacks etc) but surely they arent that bad?
reason i didnt vote for the vx220 as my mate has a s2 elise and its not fun getting in and out of it, and wouldnt like to do many motorway miles in it. although it is by far the best handling car i have been in and straight line speed is impressive aswell

the s3 is not even in the same leage as a vx in 90% of things IMO, and ive driven loads to make that judgment

For sole use on track I'd say VX but it sounds like it will be used primarily on the road with the occasional visit on track.

adam uses his corsa on the road as well though, doesnt stop that beeing a stripped out 2 seater with stiff suspension and proberly not the most ideal day to day car

Adam VX220 hands down, will suit your track orientated mind plus I cant see you in a boring Audi S3, Corsa would be interesting but the VX220 has good residuals so you will get the added bonus of your money back on it which you cant o the Corsa unfortunately.

Corsa Corsa Corsa
Seriously though, tbh, i don't think u'd be that much more impressed with the corsa on track by adding TB (bar the noise). It will go better, but nothing amazing.
You gone down the lightend flyheel etc route? Closer ratio cogs in the box, these things will make it far quicker. TB are so expensive for the basic gains (unles your going mental spec).
I think u'd be bored quickly with a NA VX220, good entry into RWD, but the outright performance isn't really there for me. The turbo is so much the better car, if you want a 220, save more until you can afford one.
The S3, good car for the road, but sooo much better FWD out there for the track, including your corsa tbh.

I like my S3, and on the motorway to visit your mrs its a great car. Pop it in 6th and will pull away nicely at any pace. Nice enough to drive and relatively quick. Although its definatly not a drivers car, too heavy and very understeery (is that a word?) but I still love mine.
