i know this isn't recommended but im a bit short on cash at the moment. today i tried fitting some nova -60mm springs but they were too short to fit the standard shocks.

would corsa -60mm springs fit? or am i better going for something like 40mm?

any help appreciated. cheers.

corsa/nova springs are the same fitting but i think nova ones are too soft for a corsa as its a bit heavier than a nova 60mm springs on standard shocks is not a good idea anyway

nah they dont fit at all. they are way too small. when i put the spring over the strut and put the top bit back on it doesnt even reach the top of the spring.

they are with standard corsa b shocks though.

i thought that if i put the nova spring on the supension arm, and put the top few bits back on (with the spring still not touching the top pad) it would be like having no suspension on the front, because the springs arn't doing anything :S

no, the shocks will drop until the spring and topmount are pressing against eachother. You might have to cut down the bumpstop 20mm maybe, im not too sure

ahhh. so, even thought the spring was moving about inside the suspension arm. when i put it back on the car, the weight of the car would press the arm down i until the spring touches the top part of the arm?

hmm. ok so just to clarify. i put the small spring on the strut and put it all back together. then put it back on the car as normal, put the wheel back on etc. then wen i lower the car back down with the jack i hold the spring and make sure its correctly aligned?

yeh, just as its started to compress, make sure its aligned - there is a rubber seat which sits ontop of the spring - this needs to be fitted in place aswell. Then lower the car

i have gmax 40mm lowering springs on my corsa b, standard shocks, and everything is fine. bumpstop had to be chopped by 20mm, but all this harsh ride stuff is rubbish, i suppose it depends on how good a condition your shocks are in, mine were like new! just dont keep the standard shocks for too long, couple of months at the most!
