looking to get one, heard when remapped make about 150bhp and bags of torque?
what sort of MPG does it offer and performance figures. thanks

i drove one of the new shape GTi TDi things, think it was 160bhp? Steve help me out here.
really nice car to drive but what i didnt like was 2k and there was a massive amount of power came in then 3k came and there felt like nothing. power band could have been slightly better.

130's are not slow and have less lag than the 150's
Mk5 would have been the 140 TDI unless it was the GT which is 170 BHP
The 140 is a better drive than the 170 also
150 GT TDI from the mk4 will remap to around 185 - 190bhp
TBH i did not like the drive after the remap its all or nothing and struggles like mad for traction

good when they are in there power band unfortunatly the power band isnt very long

would personally go with the 150 but the 130 aren't that slow tbh

yes GTi-6, but not standard, so i fail to see how this would keep up.

but then if u modified the golf it would be the same. u cant compare ur modified car to a car with similar spec unmodified.

GTi-6 are about 190bhp standard are they not?
More power, more revs... fair enough less torque.

what model was the TDI though

Good cars but will feel like a bus going round corners, thats the reason i didnt buy one.
The golfs are fairly quick when going up motorway sliproads etc, but i cant understand trying to compare them to a gti-6 one of the best all round, best handling hot hatch's ever made

apart from the obviously of petrol and derv they are the same type of car in the market with around the same costs new so why not
