http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/news/autoexpressnews/208207/civic_cossie_blasts_off.html

It begs the question of "why do they have to call it the Civic Type R R". Why not just rebadge the current Civic Type R as a VTI or whatever, and then have the above one as a proper Civic Type R . Its all very well trying to cater for the masses, but the whole point of the Type R Hondas is that they were light and not kitted out to the extreme, and they're just getting bigger and heavier, and so getting away from the whole point of the Type R.

Anyway. Rant over.

More people want something comfy and refined than those that want something lightweight, noisey and bumpy.

End of the day they are in business to make money so are going to listen what the majority of people want.

Have you driven one? It's not lame, it's a pure drivers car. But a parcel shelf is an optional extra!

its not a racing car
what exactly do the bonnet pins and roof scoop achieve? just pointless additions to make people think they are getting something special.

would be alright if the car was remotely quick

iv yet to see a decent road/track car since the clio 182 trophy

manufacturers dont seem to like making small lightweight cars with big engines in anymore

Its the consumers fault, buyers are demanding all these luxury features, comfort etc, room for the kids and shopping etc etc. if you make a die hard balls out mainstream production car you`d probably make a loss in todays market.

I dont really belive alot of stuff from auto express beacuse it always turns out to be wrong
