As some of you know, my nova has been on pistonheads lately. Its not really been for sale, just seeing if i got any interesting p/x offers.
Well just got a e-mail from a guy interested in swapping it for this escort rst. Always had a soft spot for them, but cant decide between it and the escort. Can any ford nuts out there give me the pros and cons on a rst. Like where the bad place for rust etc is (i know battery tray is a common one?)

Whats everyones views on this?

Heres the link

Personally I wouldn't get the escort. However... at the end of the day its not my decision

I had a rs turbo cab that decided to dump its oil and blow up after a week

Luv them tho they were "the car" to have 10 years ago

Also had a FRST running well over 200bhp

It used to make that turbo turkey WRC chatter noise

I paid £5500 for it and the radiator burst before i even got it home

Everytime a passenger foot kicked where the superchip was located it would konk out and i would have to piss about reseating connections

Nice car but it spent more time in the garage than it did on the road

chatter noise is turbo stalling and

a) has nothing to do with WRC

b) is bad for the car and its performance

well all the WRC cars i have heard make the turbo turkey noise!

I was told it was compressor surge to do with the turbo vains or summit

yes because air is being forced back through the turbo out the waste gate, causing the turbine to stall, this obviously isnt good for the turbo but also means the turbo loses momentum thus takes longer to spool.

wrc cars will have a sequential blow off valve which is different

F**k it mate, you only live once!!

If its what you want GET IT!!

You'll only regret it later or something!!

Both cars are nice, and tbh its your decision.

If you've got a soft spot for the RST then go for it, but if ya love ya GSi then stick with that..

Up to you at the end of the day!!
