did you say you tried another coolant temp sensor?as i think it could be running lean then whaen the cold start goes if its not getting enough fuel to keep running.but it may just need setting up properly and mapping.

i can when my data lead arrives from DTA. ordered them on wed, promised next day delivery, nothing showed up then bloody post office went on strike today!

i hope its an electrical fault and not mechanical. just after it cut out the coolant boiled up abit and over flowed the header tank (i had the cap off as i was trying to see if it needed bleeding which was causing the cutting out)

did you have the heater in the hot position when you filled the system?it could just have been an air lock.are your pipes going hard?i'd do a fault code check before you pay out to have it sorted

its booked in to be set up on tues but if its a mechanical fault then it wont go as it wont be rr'd as it wont run long enough to be done. mot runs out next thurs also.

im hoping the data lead will arrive tomorrow or monday morning at the very latest!

i bled the system with the heaters on hot so it would bleed the matrix also, all the pipes are getting hot, same with rad so the new water pump is defo ok and same with the new thermostat. the pipes arent getting solid tho, but i dont think they ever did, not even on the old engine

if you take the cap off whenits been running at got up to temp it will probably boil over anyway.if you started it up from cold with the cap off and it boiled over after a few mins then i would say it had gone

it was running all the time without the cap on. headgasket has been on there 20miles so if its blown i'll be claiming from vauxhall lol. the engine doesnt even make it to temperature before it boils over
