i have a user who is constantly visiting passionford. Ive been asked to block the site which so far has been a success. Im only using url content filtering which had been successful, but ive recently spotted him on the site.
IVe blocked the word passion, and the site definatly doesnt load. Ive also blocked the word proxy so he cant go through proxy sites, but ive now ran out of ideas on how he might be doing it.
Anyone have any suggestions?

Ask your boss if you can invest in some software called browse control.
We use it in the school and its great. it allows you to enable and disable the ports which internet explorer uses in order to turn "on" and "off" the internet.
Also has a URl filter and an application filter.
It works really well and is quite cheap...infact it will be very cheap for a small office LAN
The company who make it are called CodeWork and have an office in Manchester

So your both in the wrong?
passionfords and corsasport.
he could be using a site called.
www.spiderprovider.com
we use it in college, when the network blocks are proxy server they send us a new one via email and we use that untill the school blocks it again.

One rule for one and one for another
He's probably using a proxy site. Most of them don't have the word proxy in the title, believe it or not. I'm not gonna give you a list of them because you're harsh

if you block the ip address on your firewall there is no possible way he can access it, unless there is also a different ip address

its only URL content filtering.
IF i untick the word passion, but leave the ip address in, i can still get to the site.
Thats the closest thing the Vigor router has to a firewall. sbs2k3 also doenst have a firewall :-s

He's obviously going to beat you everytime and get on the site.
I just dont understand why you're alowed to come on here but he is'nt alowed onto passionford!
If its a major problem with him visiting the site then get the boss to have a serious word with him. If you do succeed in banning him then you're giving him more of an excuse to find another way back on the site!
