slight back ground, a smaller hospital (who were always part of our hospital just based somewhere else) merged recently, my manager asked me to go sort them out as they were shit. they were sending 50+ patients home a day (hospitals get paid for the amount of patients they see) costing us between 2.5-3k a DAY. i took over in the middle of April and weve not sent anybody home without being seen since the end of April (so a bit of an improvement). the department is understaffed, badly, we see about 400 patients a day, and theres about 4 people to do the work (admin side). out of those 4, 1 is off with stress, and has been since June, she has been here for years so the NHS will give her full pay for 6 months, she is shit and a hinderance anyway, but still its 37 hours work those 3 people have to cover every week, and if somebody is on holiday for a week, thats 74 hours work split between 2 people. atm, somebody is on holiday, and one of the girls came into my office today, i explained something she was doing wrong, she agreed to do it right from now on. 10 minutes later. shes back, swearing and shouting at me, grabs her coat and says "i'll call you whenever". so she will be off for at least 2 weeks with stress. so it leaves 1 person to do 4 peoples work... and she was annual leave booked..

they seriously do not know the meaning of stress, they have been told "do what you can do, if you do that, we'll be happy", SO they swan about with there fingers up there arse and wait for me to do their work. some people seriously fuck me off, and the whole hospital culture of "you cant touch me im in a union and can do whatever the fuck i want" is starting to get boring very quickly

if i have the flu so bad i can barely move i stil go to work (not had a sick day since 2002) because i dont want to let anybody down, these people seem tonot give a fuck about anyone.

sorry for this pointless rant :X

thats not entirely true!

I have worked in my life, just didnt whilst I was at Uni. I should have a job in the next two weeks too so it'll mean less of me on here

But you were right about me planning, I mean waiting for mam and pap to pop their clogs.

I call it irresponssible that all those sick people in hospital run the risk of making Russ sick.

Are you joking?

Surely a hospital is the best place to go/be if anywhere?
