I was back home for a week and went to see my mate whos not long finished his Corsa C20LET - Dyno'd at 287bhp.

I have NEVER ever been in something so rediculous in my life.

Pulls so hard in 6th that id reckon we were doing 140+ in no time (Speedo doesnt work yet - private road of course).

Real tidy car too. 16" Speedline Corse (i think), white with carbon bonnet, HUGE FMIC with bumper cut out to fit (dont worry, it wasnt a GSi bumper), GSi skirts.

Anyone else had such an experience?

i was thinking the other day, after sportyboy posted his LET weight, that a boggo standard corsa LET with no tuning mods must be about the same speed as an ibiza cupra with a remap

i thought it would too, then i saw how much a let weighed, and worked out power to weight cant be too dissimilar for a bog std let vs a remapped 'biza

well, to put it oddly into some form you may understand. mates ihi ibiza is 343bhp, it can do a 13.4 1/4. my corsa with a std let in it did a 13.5

My remapped cupra can beat my mates XE corsa pretty easily, no chance in a LET one tho, beattie off here has 300bhp in his cupra and the quickest hes managed so far 1/4 mile is a 13.8 I think it was, thats about the same as a standard LET

still power to weight of the ihi ibiza must be far more than the std let in a corsa, must be traction issue

http://www.vagweb.co.uk/forums/calc.htm

Assuming a Corsa LET weighs around 1000kgs

0-60 5.86
BHP/ton 203
BHP/Litre 100
1/4 13.95

Ibiza IHI, weighing 1250kgs, 343bhp
0-60 4.66
bhp/ton 278
bhp/litre 190
1/4 12.76

The 0-60 and 1/4 are only calculations so wont be 100% right, but the bhp/ton shows the ibiza 'should' destroy it.

id say you mate cant drive a 1/4 very well, but you can drive a 1/4 very well
